Our Process
Plan / Lot Selection
The first step of the home-buying process is to choose the Lot and Floor Plan you desire. If the home is already under construction on the Lot you would like, changes will be determined by how far along the construction process is at that point. If the home is not under construction, we can make many of the changes to the plan you may want.
Personalization
Once you have the floor plan chosen, you will meet with an Excalibur design consultant at Excalibur’s Design Center. Again, like the Plan / Lot selection, depending upon how far along the construction process is, will determine the extent of personalization. If the home is not under construction yet, you will choose essentially everything that meets the eye of your new home, inside & out. This would include light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, flooring, cabinets, vanities, countertops, appliances, doors, trim, paint color, siding, stone, front door, garage door, etc.
Construction
The construction of your new home is an amazing process, we encourage you to take photos along the way; it makes for a great coffee table album at the housewarming party! The construction process involves hundreds of steps and thousands of components, so we will just touch on the milestones here. We will start with Groundbreaking, then: Foundation, Floor System, Interior & Exterior Wall Framing, Roof Trusses, Electrical/Plumbing/HVAC, Insulation, Drywall, and finally Trim-out. Of course, during this entire process there are dozens of inspections by local government building inspectors that will issue a certificate of occupancy upon completion.
Closing
The last step before you can call your new dream home officially yours is the Closing. The Closing will take place at Wilcox Abstract & Title located at 307 W. Burkitt St. in Sheridan, WY. Here you will officially take title to your new Excalibur Home by means of a recorded Deed!
